Q) Is it like stage hypnosis can you make me do things I don’t want to do?

A) No, its nothing like it. It is a very relaxing process where you will be comfortable and completely in control throughout.

Q) What is being hypnotised like?

A) It’s like a kind of daydream really – hypnosis or ‘trance’ is a very relaxing state of body and mind. It is also a very normal state. In fact we go into trance many times a day, when we are driving our cars, watching television or out exercising.

You may have experienced times when driving that you can’t remember the last part of your journey or getting ‘into the zone’ when exercising. That is you, naturally going into trance. Trance is when the conscious and subconscious mind come together and focus on the same thing at the same time. In this state, your mind works to find solutions right for you.

Q) What will happen in a session?

A) Firstly, you will attend an Initial Consultation, where details of the therapy will be discussed and your needs and goals assessed.

As this is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, I help you focus your mind on solutions…

Once the Initial Consultation is complete, the follow up sessions are split into two parts. The first part, is preparation for the hypnosis. We will be working towards using your mind in a different way. And the second half of the session is relaxation hypnosis, tailored to you.

Q) How many sessions will I need?

A) Generally we would say anything between 9 -12 session, however, for Smoking cessation it is a one off 2 hour treatment, and for specific fears and phobias 4-6 sessions are required.

Q) Is it safe?

A) Yes, hypnotherapy is very safe. You will be in a safe clinical environment and completely in control throughout.
