Sports Performance

Working with Athletes and their sports performance is a special passion of mine. I am a keen long distance cyclist; open water swimmer, Pilates and running enthusiast.

I love sport and really enjoy helping others to gain better focus to up their performance levels. To understand the mind is crucial in this. And personally gaining a better understanding of my clients chosen discipline, I find fascinating and a real privilege.  It is a step into their world of top performance.

I have worked within the following fields of professional sport. Showjumping, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Boxing, Golf, Pentathlon, and Swimming.

These sport experts have come with a whole host of interesting issues that have needed my help to knock out or change, so that they can move up to the next level or maintain focus.

Maintaining focus is key, and lowering anxiety levels to help this means that one can begin to focus in a much more grounded and relaxed way.  When anxiety levels are high we tense up. We move in a different way, and little subtle changes or sometimes, not so subtle can make a huge difference.

Often in my clinic room, athletes have had big ‘WOW’ moments; where they have worked out what needs to change and more importantly how to do it. And it’s fascinating watching that in motion.

With any athlete, their level of commitment to their discipline is paramount. And I have to say that I very much enjoy and admire seeing that level, it’s very special indeed.
