Teenagers and Hypnotherapy
Why is this?
We now live in the digital age, and although there are so many benefits, there are also a lot of downsides. The pressure to look, feel, behave, follow or do what is shown on many social platforms. Social media is growing so fast, and most teenagers have their own mobile devise with access to the internet at their fingertips 24 hours a day. Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Snapchat, WhatsApp to name but a few. Not only are teenagers contending with the pressures of becoming an adult, doing exams, choosing their future studies or career path. They are also dealing with a barrage of online information. It makes me tired just thinking about it. All the pinging and alerts people are sent on an hourly basis is unbelievable, no wonder anxieties are rising.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can help teenagers get a better perspective, change unhelpful patterns of behaviour and negative beliefs. I work to remind them that this is a wonderful time in their life. Full of opportunities and excitement, and provide a safe space for them to relax and discover more self belief, control, confidence, drive. And who knows maybe rekindle other enjoyable activities, hobbies, sports that they may have forgotten.
What can Solution Focused Hypnotherapy for teenagers help with?
- exam nerves and stress
- presentation or social anxiety
- depression
- low self esteem
- friendship and relationship issues
- obsessional behaviours
- confidence issues
- sports performance
When teenagers are having difficulties it is often pretty obvious in the household, not in all cases, but, I can also work with the parents to ensure that we are all coming from the same angle to help create that Solution Focused approach.

My teachers were beginning to worry about my performance at school and my parents were too. I had started to get anxious about going into school and also about friendships at school. I was noticing that I was getting quieter and quieter. Viv taught me what was happening in my brain and helped me regain my confidence. I now am so much happier and have made some better friendship choices.
