Children, they can need help too

I work with children from about 7 years and up. Children respond very well to a Solution Focused style of therapy.  Sessions are made fun. This helps children to get a good understanding of their brain in a relaxed, respectful and creative atmosphere.

Working with children is great, they keep you on your toes. I’m always so in awe of how quickly they grasp an understanding of their brain, and how to use it properly.

What do we work on

Building confidence in the sessions is high on my agenda. As is focusing on the good things in life. This helps children recognise their skills and attributes. All those things that we see as parents/carers/siblings etc that make them wonderful, often need to be highlighted, recognised and then owned!

Recurring issues

There are lots of pressures on children, and some may say that they have always been there. However recurring worries that often come up in my sessions are:

  • Confidence issues with friends or in the classroom
  • Friendship problems
  • Bullying
  • Feeling sick
  • Panic attacks
  • Exam nerves, freezing in exams/ lessons
  • Phobic reactions
  • Eating difficulties
  • Difficulties sleeping/waking during the night

What to do next?

Get in contact. Give me a call to discuss what is happening and come along to discover more about what I do, how I do it and how it can help.

What the parents say:

Viv has done amazing work with my son to support and uplift his confidence in many areas. I highly recommend her solution-focused methods, and wholeheartedly endorse her practice. Viv is warm, approachable, effective and is able to provide a service many parents and families can benefit from.

I can’t thank Viv enough for the help she has given my 11 year old daughter.  She has helped her find her ‘superpower’ – which is confidence!  Together with the hypnotherapy and talking to Viv about all the positive things in her life, she has turned a corner and become less anxious and more able to deal with new situations in a positive manner.  The CD Viv gave her to listen to before sleep, helped her to relax and fall asleep which is something she had been struggling with for a long time.  My daughter can now go to school rested and free from worry and is generally less anxious and has learnt coping mechanisms through positive thought.
