Now my new treatment room is built and many of my clients are enjoying the timber-framed space with me, I can’t help think how important it is to have a vision and dream!
This all comes back to having dreams and setting goals for yourself and working towards them with clear intentions. When we send clear messages to ourselves about what we want in life; our clever, no amazing brains go off and start finding solutions of how we can get there! The part of the brain that is particularly involved in this process is the Anterior Cingulate.
Our brains when idle are not idle at all. In fact when we think that we are not thinking they are working very hard indeed. Ever had that experience of trying to recall say the name of an actor in a particular film and for the life of you, you cannot remember… Then later on whilst washing up or about to go to sleep, the answer pops into your head? Well that is a prime example of our brains scanning our memory banks of information without us consciously trying to do it… Amazing isn’t it?
This is why having dreams and setting goals about your preferred future is so important. One of my daydreams was to have my very own treatment room, and with work and determination I’ve been lucky enough to get there… Was it luck or was it my brain working out the solutions to get me there? I think the latter (But I mustn’t forget to mention my very hard working boyfriend!!!)
