Christmas can be such a joyful occasion, spending quality time with our friends and family and enjoying each other’s company. The lovely Christmas dinner is especially calling out to me!

However, this holiday season brings a myriad of stresses, especially if you have young children. Juggling spending time with your children whilst also managing your work or business can be a considerable struggle especially if the kids finish school earlier in the month, but you only have a few days break yourself. Don’t even get me started on the rush to make sure you have presents for everyone, wrapping them all up, and hiding them from the kids!

Parents in the clinic always bring up the guilt they experience with not being able to spend as much time as possible with their kids over any holiday, especially Christmas. Being the primary caregiver whilst working is a constant balancing act, and it is a challenging position to be in. It is so important to be in the right headspace; you’re working hard to provide and support your children but also want to be there for them. What do you struggle with the most over the holidays? Do you have any helpful tips or tricks you use to handle the long holidays?

Sometimes talking it out and having someone there to support you through the tougher times is so beneficial to your mental health.
